Tips on Applying Makeup

JUST ABOUT WOMEN - Just about women (posting by womenomenblog)
The best makeup job appears to be totally natural, although it takes a great deal of effort to achieve this effect. Be careful how you apply foundation makeup because, while it can give you a perfect appearance, it can cake up. Here is the right way to put on makeup.

1. Of course, the first step is to buy the makeup. Here are your cosmetic basics: Face powder, eye shadow, concealer, mascara, eyeliner and lip gloss. Always go for the best quality products your budget will allow, and remember that many products you find at the drugstore contain harsh chemicals that may irritate your complexion. Be sure to take advantage of the well-trained makeup artists you can find at many makeup counters. They can give you a lot of help. This is a resource many women overlook. Remember makeup brushes. In addition, these also should be the best you can afford to purchase.

2. Put on powder and concealer. Concealer should be applied to any areas that have imperfections, such as under the eyes, the forehead, cheeks, chin and nose. Make sure it is well blended so that you do not have clumps of concealer on your face. If you prefer, you can use a foundation. This is intended to make your skin tone even. Put on powder over your concealer. This will make your skin look smoother and blemish free. It will also help control oiliness. Getting a good match to your skin tone gives you the best look and best results, so choose the three products with that in mind. Blend your makeup carefully at your chin line so that no streaks show.

3. As a finishing touch, add some blush. To get a natural looking shade, only use a small amount of blush. This should be put on the round part of the cheek, and smoothed in well.

4. Put on eye makeup. There are several ways to accomplish this. One technique you may want to try is to apply a thin line of eyeliner very near your upper lashes. Then you can smudge the line a little to get a smooth line. The best place to place eyeshadow is over the eye, beneath the crease in a sweeping motion. Apply shadow in a paler shade on top of your eye, reaching to your eyebrows, and then combine these two colors. It is good to match your makeup colors to your own skin tone and keep it fairly neutral. It’s risky to attempt using colors that are too bright or too sparkly as not everyone can pull it off. Lastly, apply mascara thinly and make sure there are no clumps. Your look will be a disaster with thick coats of mascara.

5. Lipstick. You should use either a lipliner and lipstick or simply use a lip gloss. When you use lipstick, pick a natural looking color and stay inside the outlines of your lips for a more attractive effect. Selecting the correct shade can make your teeth seem whiter. Find a brand that really stays on your lips, so that you don't have to refresh your lip color all the time.

When it comes to applying makeup, practice makes perfect. When put on correctly, makeup will really help to enhance your natural beauty. If you do it wrong you will look a little overdone. Sometimes you just have to try different things until you have figured out the best way to apply your makeup. The best thing to do is to choose shades that are very close to your own skin tone and then use them sparingly.

Best Ever Tips For Perfect Wedding Day Make-Up

JUST ABOUT WOMEN - Just about women (posting by womenomenblog)
You will certainly want to look perfect on your wedding day. Every detail from shoes to gown to accessories, is organized weeks ahead of the big day. The final touch to your wedding look is a perfectly made up face. Check these tips below for applying the perfect wedding makeup.

1. Start with a great canvas. Getting a facial or new skin care products may seem necessary to pre-wedding skincare but actually, this is not a good idea. Don't make big changes in your products or regimen - you might cause skin problems which you don’t want on your special day. Before your wedding, follow a simple moisturizing and cleansing routine. Avoid any plucking, waxing or tanning for at least five days before the wedding.

2. Plan in advance. There are many various styles of makeup to choose from, so do some research. Talk to the makeup stylist you may be using. If you are going to do your own makeup, then experiment with some different looks to find the right one to suit you. Buy cosmetics to test and give yourself at least 2 weeks before the wedding.

3. Sign yourself up for a practice run. Regardless of who is putting on makeup for you, you want a practice session prior to the big day.

4. Test the cosmetics and the look. Leave your makeup on after the practice session for a while, refrain from washing your face right away. Go out for an evening to test how long the look lasts. Make sure the mascara can stand up to crying and laughing. Get an idea of how long your lipstick lasts and when you need to put it on again. You do not want to have wedding photos taken of you not wearing your lip color.

5. Put on the perfect foundation. Be sure you have a foundation that is a really good match to your skin tone. With your concealer, think about mixing a little of the foundation into the concealer so that they match.

6. Brush on a light sprinkle of face powder. Be extra cautious if your wedding is going to be outside in the summer. Minimize your makeup so that perspiration on your special day does not cause shine and dripping. Apply the powder all over your face and blend with the foundation.

7. Blusher. Choose a shade of blush that is not highly colored, so that your own blushes can shine through. It is going to be an emotional day so let your emotions show through your skin.

8. Spend time on the eye makeup. A key element of your wedding makeup is the eye makeup. Use a shade that gives contour and depth. Make sure you accentuate with a shade that will glow in camera flashes instead of glare. Lightly apply the mascara. You want your eye makeup to enhance your eyes instead of disguising them.

9. Do the lips last thing. For longer lasting lipstick, first apply the color to your lips, then use a matching lip liner to outline and blend into the lip color. Blot just once then use a light powder to dust over the top. Put on another coat of the lipstick. Finish with a clear gloss if you like. These extra steps will help your lip color last all day.

Applying the perfect makeup for a wedding takes some work and time. If you work with your makeup artist, and plan ahead, you will be happy in the end.

Tips For Five Minute Make-up

JUST ABOUT WOMEN - Just about women (posting by womenomenblog)
Don’t leave home sans makeup, read this first! You may be in a hurry, but taking these tips will teach you to do a great face in five minutes flat!

1. Moisturize. It is imperative for good skin care. Don’t cheat on this step! Gently apply all over the face. For best results, you would allow the moisturizer set in for a couple of minutes but if you’re in a hurry, don’t worry. Moving on…

2. Put on your base or foundation. To achieve an even skin tone it is best to blend the foundation into your skin. Have a sponge or brush, and put foundation all over the face - brow, cheeks, chin and nose. Ensure that there are no streaks or areas that don’t look natural. You need to get an even tone. (Be careful around the jaw – it is easy to stop applying foundation directly on the edge of the chin, which looks really obvious. Make sure you blend it in.)

3. Apply blusher. Now your skin tone is an even color, put some color back in your cheeks. A powder blusher is good - apply it in a line under your cheek bones. You don’t need much, just a light amount to color to your cheeks - don't overdo the blusher!

4. Put your eyeshadow on. You don’t have time to be fussy with mixing colors, so just work out what color will do by itself for today. With a brush, put eyeshadow on your eyelids and just below your eyebrow. The tip of your finger works well to blend the eyeshadow line into your skin.

5. Eyeliner can be added. Seeing how time is limited, you will want to only focus on one part today, let’s look at the edge of your eyes. With a pencil or liquid liner, apply to the corners of your eyes. Try not to move about too much now, or you'll have to clean up and begin again. You’ll need a steady hand here.

6. Now mascara. When you’re ok with the eyeshadow and liner, apply mascara. Begin on upper lashes and quickly draw the brush from the base of your lashes and upward. Be sure to get the corners of your lashes too. Do again on the bottom lashes. Get rid of clumps using a cotton swab and avoid blinking much as the mascara dries.

7. Add a finishing touch with a subtle lip color. The lips still need some color even if you choose not to use a lip liner. After you apply the lipstick, and before you blot with a tissue, press your lips together to make sure that it is spread well.

In a matter of five minutes, you're face is complete. If you've have time leftover, you can quickly dab your nose with powder, check your blusher color and see if your eyebrows have good color. No one will know that you only had five minutes to do your face when you head out!
