How to Achieve Manageable and Beautiful Hair Everyday

JUST ABOUT WOMEN - Just about women (posting by womenomenblog)
We all know how a bad hair day can ruin our mood for the rest of the day. Having great hair, every day all day makes us feel confident and ready to take on any challenge. Below are some tips for achieving great hair all the time.

Eat right for healthy hair

Any hair stylist in urbane scrubs will tell you that eating healthy food rich in vitamins and minerals is essential in keeping your hair healthy and lustrous, as well as in helping prevent hair loss. Hair is made of protein, so getting enough
protein is a must! Foods rich in protein include chicken, fish, lean meat, tofu, soy products, and egg. Essential fatty acids, particularly omega-3 fatty acids, are also play a critical role in keeping your hair and nails strong and shiny. Foods rich in omega-3 include almonds, walnuts, flaxseed oil, tuna, salmon, mackerel, and other fatty fish. Vitamins that are vital for keeping hair smooth and healthy include vitamins B-6, B-12 and folic acid. Foods rich in B-6 vitamins include potatoes, sweet potatoes, banana, and spinach. Major sources of B-12 vitamins include poultry, meat, fish, and dairy products. You can get plenty of folic acid from fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly tomatoes and citrus fruits. Finally, trace minerals like zinc and magnesium also affect the condition of your hair and which you can get from seafood, vegetables and meat.

Wash your hair properly

Washing your hair properly can produce significant results. One of the most common mistakes people make is washing their hair with warm water. Washing your hair with warm water can make your hair dry because heat opens up the hair cuticles and releases hair’s natural moisture. If you like taking baths using warm water use a shower cap to cover your hair then use cold water for washing and rinsing your hair afterwards. Cold water will lock in your hair’s moisture and make it appear lustrous. Washing your hair everyday is also not recommended as it dries out the hair and ruins the hair’s cuticles. It is best to wash the hair every other day. When shampooing your hair, massage your scalp gently for about 40 seconds and rinse thoroughly and do the same procedure twice. Use conditioner after. Rub the conditioner on your hair, starting from the tips to the roots. Leave the conditioner on your hair for a few minutes to achieve silkier and softer hair then rinse thoroughly. You can also use leave-in or spray on conditioners once a week t penetrate deep into your hair cuticle sand heal damaged hair completely. After rinsing your hair, don’t rub your hair with a towel as this can make some of your hair fall. Blot damp hair instead and as much as possible, let your hair dry naturally. Use a wide brush to detangle your hair and brush carefully.

Choose your shampoo well

Avoid shampoos with harsh ingredients such as ammonium lauryl sulfate. Go with shampoos that are made with gentle organic ingredients such as olive oil, jasmine, citrus fruits, proteins, keratin, and vitamins. Choose a product according to the condition of your hair—whether you have dry, oily, normal or damaged hair.

Tips on Applying Makeup

JUST ABOUT WOMEN - Just about women (posting by womenomenblog)
The best makeup job appears to be totally natural, although it takes a great deal of effort to achieve this effect. Be careful how you apply foundation makeup because, while it can give you a perfect appearance, it can cake up. Here is the right way to put on makeup.

1. Of course, the first step is to buy the makeup. Here are your cosmetic basics: Face powder, eye shadow, concealer, mascara, eyeliner and lip gloss. Always go for the best quality products your budget will allow, and remember that many products you find at the drugstore contain harsh chemicals that may irritate your complexion. Be sure to take advantage of the well-trained makeup artists you can find at many makeup counters. They can give you a lot of help. This is a resource many women overlook. Remember makeup brushes. In addition, these also should be the best you can afford to purchase.

2. Put on powder and concealer. Concealer should be applied to any areas that have imperfections, such as under the eyes, the forehead, cheeks, chin and nose. Make sure it is well blended so that you do not have clumps of concealer on your face. If you prefer, you can use a foundation. This is intended to make your skin tone even. Put on powder over your concealer. This will make your skin look smoother and blemish free. It will also help control oiliness. Getting a good match to your skin tone gives you the best look and best results, so choose the three products with that in mind. Blend your makeup carefully at your chin line so that no streaks show.

3. As a finishing touch, add some blush. To get a natural looking shade, only use a small amount of blush. This should be put on the round part of the cheek, and smoothed in well.

4. Put on eye makeup. There are several ways to accomplish this. One technique you may want to try is to apply a thin line of eyeliner very near your upper lashes. Then you can smudge the line a little to get a smooth line. The best place to place eyeshadow is over the eye, beneath the crease in a sweeping motion. Apply shadow in a paler shade on top of your eye, reaching to your eyebrows, and then combine these two colors. It is good to match your makeup colors to your own skin tone and keep it fairly neutral. It’s risky to attempt using colors that are too bright or too sparkly as not everyone can pull it off. Lastly, apply mascara thinly and make sure there are no clumps. Your look will be a disaster with thick coats of mascara.

5. Lipstick. You should use either a lipliner and lipstick or simply use a lip gloss. When you use lipstick, pick a natural looking color and stay inside the outlines of your lips for a more attractive effect. Selecting the correct shade can make your teeth seem whiter. Find a brand that really stays on your lips, so that you don't have to refresh your lip color all the time.

When it comes to applying makeup, practice makes perfect. When put on correctly, makeup will really help to enhance your natural beauty. If you do it wrong you will look a little overdone. Sometimes you just have to try different things until you have figured out the best way to apply your makeup. The best thing to do is to choose shades that are very close to your own skin tone and then use them sparingly.

Tips on Applying Eyeliner

JUST ABOUT WOMEN - Just about women (posting by womenomenblog)
For a woman, eyeliner can be one of the greatest cosmetic tools. Even a small amount will give your eyes a sophisticated aura. However, just a tad too much and you’ll end up looking like you’re dressed for Halloween. Here are some tips to help you apply eyeliner to suit your own unique style.

1. Know how you want to look. You can do quite a few things with eyeliner. Go from a natural, daytime style to a more dramatic kohl with smoky black around your eyes. Decide what you want before you begin.

2. Choose your liner color. Pick a color that will look good with your eye color or a plain tone for a simpler look. If you are looking for a nice subtle day color then try soft green or a shade of brown. For dramatic evening looks, try a jewel green shade to accent green eyes, an aqua shade to accent blue eyes or just a basic black.

3. Choose an eyeliner type. Liners are available as liquid pens, pencils, or shadows in a cake that are applied with a separate brush. For beginners it is recommended that you start out slow and use a pencil or a liquid liner, as they are much easier to use.

4. Get the eyeliner ready for use. Eye pencils have to be sharpened on occasion. Once your pencil is sharp, warm it up with a blow dryer or slowly roll between your warm fingertips. There are several different styles to liquid eyeliners, so look at the instructions. The brush must be wet with liner on its tip.

5. Start on the upper lid. Tilt your head backwards and half close your eyes to see into the mirror. For this to work right you need to see the edge of the eyelid, the top of it.

6. Apply the liner. Apply the liner to the corner of your eye closest to your nose. Carefully draw a line along the edge of your eyelid as close as possible to the eyelash. If your hand is a little shaky, rest it on your cheek to get a smooth line.

7. Draw liner on bottom lid. Going from the outer corner of the eye, draw in the lower line. Again, go as close as you can to the edge of your eyelid, just beneath your eyelashes. The line does not have to go all the way across the eye. Stop three-quarters of the way up the lid.

8. Let eyeliner dry. This is extremely important if you're applying liquid liner. You need to let the eyeliner liquid dry for at least half a minute.

9. Smudge the liner (this is optional). To make the line look softer, run a Q-tip along the line you made. Go gently on this until you get the right look.

10. Now do the exact same thing to the other eye.

If you do these steps, you should be able to create a lot of different looks. Simply try new things and put on eyeliner to fit your mood. Have fun!

Best Ever Tips For Perfect Wedding Day Make-Up

JUST ABOUT WOMEN - Just about women (posting by womenomenblog)
You will certainly want to look perfect on your wedding day. Every detail from shoes to gown to accessories, is organized weeks ahead of the big day. The final touch to your wedding look is a perfectly made up face. Check these tips below for applying the perfect wedding makeup.

1. Start with a great canvas. Getting a facial or new skin care products may seem necessary to pre-wedding skincare but actually, this is not a good idea. Don't make big changes in your products or regimen - you might cause skin problems which you don’t want on your special day. Before your wedding, follow a simple moisturizing and cleansing routine. Avoid any plucking, waxing or tanning for at least five days before the wedding.

2. Plan in advance. There are many various styles of makeup to choose from, so do some research. Talk to the makeup stylist you may be using. If you are going to do your own makeup, then experiment with some different looks to find the right one to suit you. Buy cosmetics to test and give yourself at least 2 weeks before the wedding.

3. Sign yourself up for a practice run. Regardless of who is putting on makeup for you, you want a practice session prior to the big day.

4. Test the cosmetics and the look. Leave your makeup on after the practice session for a while, refrain from washing your face right away. Go out for an evening to test how long the look lasts. Make sure the mascara can stand up to crying and laughing. Get an idea of how long your lipstick lasts and when you need to put it on again. You do not want to have wedding photos taken of you not wearing your lip color.

5. Put on the perfect foundation. Be sure you have a foundation that is a really good match to your skin tone. With your concealer, think about mixing a little of the foundation into the concealer so that they match.

6. Brush on a light sprinkle of face powder. Be extra cautious if your wedding is going to be outside in the summer. Minimize your makeup so that perspiration on your special day does not cause shine and dripping. Apply the powder all over your face and blend with the foundation.

7. Blusher. Choose a shade of blush that is not highly colored, so that your own blushes can shine through. It is going to be an emotional day so let your emotions show through your skin.

8. Spend time on the eye makeup. A key element of your wedding makeup is the eye makeup. Use a shade that gives contour and depth. Make sure you accentuate with a shade that will glow in camera flashes instead of glare. Lightly apply the mascara. You want your eye makeup to enhance your eyes instead of disguising them.

9. Do the lips last thing. For longer lasting lipstick, first apply the color to your lips, then use a matching lip liner to outline and blend into the lip color. Blot just once then use a light powder to dust over the top. Put on another coat of the lipstick. Finish with a clear gloss if you like. These extra steps will help your lip color last all day.

Applying the perfect makeup for a wedding takes some work and time. If you work with your makeup artist, and plan ahead, you will be happy in the end.

Tips on Shaving Your Legs

JUST ABOUT WOMEN - Just about women (posting by womenomenblog)
Arguably, the beauty routine that women dislike most is having to shave their legs. It takes a long time, demands agility and can be hazardous if you cut yourself with a dull blade. Removing the hair from your legs doesn't have to be a chore. Using these steps will give you a perfect shave every time.

1. Start with water that is warm. As you shave your legs you should use warm water to in the shower or bath. Wait for the skin and hair to get softer. When hair and skin are cold, you have more potential for cutting yourself or missing spots.

2. It is important to exfoliate. Do not skip over this step if you have dry skin or are even just shaving for first time this summer. When you shower, use loofah or abrasive mitt and scrub it onto your skin in small circles. This is going to ease hairs which tend to grow back into the skin, will take away the dead skin, and make the hair rise sightly for ease of cutting.

3. Rub your legs all over with shaving cream. There are various choices out there. Select a product that is good for dry or sensitive skin, or one that includes a soothing ingredient such as aloe. If you don’t have shaving cream, a creamy body wash will do the trick. Put a thin coat of the cream on your legs from your hip all the way to your feet.

4. Elevate your leg in order to shave your foot. Shave over your toes and the bridge of the foot. You shouldn't have to do this every time you shave, but maybe every 3-4 times. Just decide how often this area needs doing. Be aware that the skin on our feet is thin and can be cut very easily.

5. Put your foot up on something. Through propping your foot up and bending your knee you should be able to reach the whole leg to shave it.

6. Begin at the ankle. In slow, even strokes bring the razor up from your ankle to just under your knee. It is important to do the entire length of the area with one solid stroke. Shift an inch around the leg and repeat. Continue shaving until all hair and shaving cream is eliminated from the entire lower leg.

7. Wash out the razor. Following every two or three strokes, wash the razor under running warm water. The blade can be dulled prematurely and prevent from getting clogged with hair if you rinse frequently.

8. Make sure that you shave your thigh. Begin using a razor for the upper portion of the leg with a stroke above the knee and keep shaving until you reach the top of your thigh. Move all the way around until your thigh is smooth.

9. Knee area. The most difficult area to shave on your body is around the knee. When you are trying to access different areas and different angles it is best to be gentle and shift your leg so you can access the area. Once you have done some strokes, run your fingers over the spot to locate any areas you may have missed.

10. Do all these steps with the other leg.

11. Rinse off with warm water. Rinse off your legs thoroughly after you've shaved all of the hair.

12. Dry. If you have the time, allow your legs to air dry when you get out of the bath or shower. If not, take a towel to gently pat dry the skin. When it comes to skin lotions, rubbing is bad. To avoid breakouts, wait 2 hours or more before applying lotion.

Shaving your legs doesn't have to be something that causes pain. Ensure that the razors and clean and sharp for the best use. After that, shave frequently so your skin is familiar with the ‘abuse of the razor’.
